There is a warm Belford welcome for those who stay in my beautifully restored 17th century Georgian house. It is ideally situated in the center of the small Northumbrian village of Belford, directly opposite the market cross. The holiday home offers many original features, including a 17th century coal burning fire place; and an inglenook recess in the kitchen. Stained glass windows are a feature throughout the house, as well as a rolled top Victorian bath. Sleeps 6, there are three bedrooms: one double en-suite, one double and one twin. There is also a separate w/c. upstairs and bathroom.
The large lounge is upstairs, dressed with Peruvian furniture, an old style gas burning stove, and digital freeview TV. and a DVD player. Downstairs there is a tranquil sitting room with a log burning fire and old Georgian fire place. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. French doors lead from the kitchen into the garden, which has seated patio area, wild flower beds. The garden is a great sun trap and private. It is enclosed and has a rear enterance from the side street. I do have a place to store biycles.
The utility/breakfast room, behind the main kitchen also has a door leading out to the garden. Gas central heating is throughout the house. All gas and electric is included in the price.
North Northumberland is abundantly supplied with places of interest. Dotted along the unspoiled wild coastline are the castles of Warkworth, Dunstanburgh, Alnwick, Bamburgh and and the priory and castle of Holy island. The surrounding countryside is ideal for those who like the outdoor life. There are fantastic trails and walks: As well as amazing unspoiled beaches, one can find the nearby Cheviot hills and Hadrians wall. Belford lies 1 mile west off the A1 London to Edinburgh road, and is approx 15 miles south of the Scottish Borders and 3 miles inland from the Northumbrian Coast.
Services in the village include a Grocery shops ( Co-Op open until 10 p.m.), Post office, Chemist, Newsagent, 3 Public houses (good bar meals and Sunday lunches), Golfing range, Car parking in the village square opposite the house, Doctors Surgery.
Fantastic location for Cheviout Hills, Historic Castles, Hiking, Bird watching and dog friendly beaches.

~Home Information & Amenities~
There is a well equipped kitchen for home cooking. Place settings for six. Pull out kitchen table. Gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, small fridge in kitchen and French doors opening up into the garden. In the back kitchen, one large fridge feezer, dishwasher, washing machine and butler sink which is great for dirty boots anshoes after walking.
There is plenty space in the back kitchen for your dogs bed,dishes and food. As well as another door opening into the enclosed garden. The garden is a bit of a sun trap and nicely sheltered. I have barn at the rear of the garden with an enterance from the side steet, so if you wish to store your bicycles that space is available.
Downstairs Sitting Room
Relax, read a book, browse the newspapers or just have a cup of coffee or a quiet relaxed drink.... This downstairs sitting room is tv free, with an open coal/log fire for the colder months. A nice place for the adults to chill while the kids watch tv or a dvds upstairs! Or...... use this room as a work space.
Upstairs Sitting Room
Fantastic spacious airy sitting room with birds eye view of the centre of this bustling small village, overlooking the cobbled Market Place and Stone War Memorial Cross.
This room is dressed with Puruvian wooden furniture, a pot bellied gas stove and two lovely large leather sofas. There is a tv and dvd player here along with a bookcase full of interesting books.
From mid afternoon onwards the sun streams through the two Georgian sashed windows making it another perfect space to relax.
Bedroom - Double Ensuite
This Double ensuite Bedroom is at the rear of the house with a pine wooden double bed and pine wooden window shutters. All bedding and two towels per guest are provided. The ensuite has a shower, basin and wc.
Bedroom - Double
This large spacious Double Bedroom is at the front of the house, overlooking the Market Place in the centre of the village.
The room is dressed with pine furniture, stripped pine wooden window shutters and a beautiful full length french Mirrow. All bedding and two towels per guest are provided.
Bedroom - Twin
This Twin Bedroom is at the rear of the house and has two lovely old wooden twin beds originatining from Alnwick Castle. The room is dressed with pine furniture and painted pine wooden window shutters. All bedding and two towels per guest are provided.
Bathroom and W.C.
On the first smaller landing of the house there is a
bathroom with a sink and a lovely large roll top bath.
There is a seperate w.c. next door.
Stained glass leaded windows are a feature throughout the home. The house has gas central heating and instant hot water. All gas and elec are included in the price. The windows in the house all have wooden shutters which are the perfect black out for sleeping as well as keeping the heat indoors in the winter months!
Wifi is provided and the code is given once a booking is made.
