East End cottage is a two - storey farm cottage, sleeping up to five people. Spacious and well equipped, the cottage has been tastefully decorated and furnished and has been awarded 4 keys by theTourist Board. Upstairs there two bedrooms - one double and family with three single beds. Downstairs the front porch leads to the sitting room, a cosy room with an open range and colour TV. Leading off the sitting room are the three piece bathroom (bath, shower, wc and hand basin) and fitted kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, microwave, food processor and electric cooker. Finally leading off the kitchen and sitting room is a dining room. |

| At Doxford Farm you are at the heart of Doxford Estate - an area of great natural beauty, which abounds with wildlife and can be enjoyed by a stroll along one of the trails or nature walks which wend their way through nearly a thosand acres of undulating countryside and woodland. Details of the walks can be found in the cottage or can be obtained from Doxford Country Store, only a stone's throw from your front door, where you can enjoy a coffee or browse through the gifts and gallery. A walk around Doxford Lake, only a short distance away, with its varied birds and plant life is definitely recommended. | |

The cottage is about 7 miles both from the Market town of Alnwick - home to the Duke of Northumberland - and the bustling seaside resort of Seahouses. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland, Doxford Farm is only a short drive from the unspoilt Northumbrian Coast, with it's miles of sandy beaches, dotted with rocky coves, tiny fishing villages and dramatic castles. |

You are also within easy
reach of the Cheviot Hills, the spectacular Coquet and Ingram Valleys, and
Simonside Hills - ideal for the serious walker. As well as numerous castles
(Alnwick, Warkworth, Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh etc) and historic buildings
(Wallington hall and Craigside). There are an abundance of golf courses and
no visit is complete without a visit to Holy Isalnd, the Farne Islands, the
Chillingham white cattle and Craster - famous for it's Kippers. The nearest pubs are the Blink Bonny at Christon Bank (where there is also a village shop) and The pack Horse at Ellingham, both are about 3 miles away. The nearby Market Town of Alnwick provides a good selection of local craft and gift shops, cafes, pubs and a theatre. |

Two miles of the A1 at Charlton Mires on the B6347 (Seahouses road) then
first left to Doxford Farm. Follow the signs to Doxford Country Crafts.
When you arrive please check in at the shop.

East End Cottage is a stone - built farm cottage situated in an elevated
position looking out over the fields and buildings of Doxford Farm, a
working mixed farm in North Northumberland. Logs and coal for the range are provided free of charge and the heating - provided by the night storage heaters is also included in the rent. Otherwise electricity is provided on a £1 coin meter. Bed linen and duvets and blankets are provided, but guests are asked to bring their own towels. Short breaks are available through out the winter (contact for details), whilst from Easter to November bookings are normally taken on a weekly basis from Saturday - Saturday. Arrival time should be after 4 P.M. and departure before 10 A.M. to allow time to prepare for the next arrivals. A deposit of one third of the rent is required on confirmation. There is ample of room for parking and a small garden/sitting area with lovely views and garden furniture outside the front door. Well behaved pets are welcome (though not upstairs please) but please remember that you are on a working farm and dogs must be kept under control near livestock.
